GUIDING PEOPLE TO CONNECT WITH THEIR TRUE SELVES
I get delighted when people are able and dare to just be themselves and follow their hearts, chasing their dreams, because they believe in them and don't let fear hold them back. That is the path I have taken myself, from head to heart. Turning more inward and discovering who I am at the deepest level. I was able to connect with my true self and start living my life according to what is true for me.
My own path showed me the way into my mission in this lifetime to guide people to connect with their true selves and to live their lives from a place of authenticity, freedom and love, without judgment towards self or others. From the moment we are born we are being conditioned by our environment and sometimes we forget who we truly are and what we need, with all its consequences we see in the world these days ...
LIFE!!!
I love this life, its richness and diversity, its ups and downs. It is this richness of being able to experience what makes us humans unique. I always used to be very outward-looking, working hard, partying a lot. For me at that time that was experiencing life to the fullest, limitless and endless. It took a burnout to learn that I have limits and to be able to turn more inward to learn much more about myself and life within and finally find more peace within myself.
FROM CORPORATE TO INDEPENDENT
After a career in the corporate world, in which I enjoyed working for large organizations and in various marketing roles, at a certain point something changed in me and I no longer got the satisfaction from my work as I did before. It was time to take my life in a different direction and instead of developing products and brands, focus on developing people. That was always what I was good at, being able to work with everyone and see the other person's unique contribution and connect with them on shared ground.
FROM HEAD TO HEART
My path of self-development started after I did my first ceremony and I received the message to learn to live from my heart instead of my head. I have a very strong cognition and it was dominant in my life. I had never learned to express my feelings and therefore didn't really know how to deal with them, putting them away or numbing them was easier, being strong and carrying on, even though I was and am a very sensitive person. So the message was clear. And from there started the path of connecting with myself, my body and my heart.
I went to see a therapist with the intention that I wanted to learn to live from my heart, I started meditating, writing, in coaching, started yoga. I was to further immerse myself in all this. Taking training and courses. I started learning more about shamanism and working with plant medicine. I became fascinated by indigenous traditions and their pure way of being and being in touch with nature and their environment. In particular, the indigenous tribe from Brazil, the Huni Kuin, have a special place in my heart. They came on my path and through working with them I have learnt a lot about myself, life and the universe. There is so much more than we can imagine with our human minds.
WESTERN METHODS COMBINED WITH EASTERN PHILOSOPHY AND SOUTH AMERICAN TRADITIONS
Over the past 10 years, I have developed into an experienced coach, therapist and facilitator of psychedelic sessions. My experience in coaching and therapeutic counselling comes mainly through thorough self-examination and reflection, through the best education and training in the profession of coaching and in-depth Jungian therapeutic or depth psychological work. In addition, studies in various forms of yoga and meditation and teaching and passing on this philosophy and practice have made me very aware of myself and my body. Really learning to listen to my body, learning to work with life energy and how to channel it, teaching an sich and using myself as a channel and part of something bigger, of spirit, which flows through me and shares its energy through me - inspiration or creation energy that wants to be shared or manifested.
My background in guiding psychedelic sessions started with participating and experiencing many different ceremonies with plant medicines such as ayahuasca and peyote myself under the guidance of traditional shamans from South America, such as the Huni Kuin tribe, the Yawanawa tribe and maestros of the Shipibo from Peru. Most of all, I worked with the Huni Kuin, a tribe living deep in the jungles of Brazil. I was so fascinated by their ceremonies that I wanted to experience and learn more about how they live and work with their plant medicines. Therefore, I visited them twice deep in the jungle of Brazil and got to experience how they live in harmony with nature and the elements. I also learned from them how to lead ceremonies from a basis of deep trust in myself, the other, the plant medicine and spirit and how to keep space in the circle and trust everyone's process and that the plant medicine always gives what is needed.
Additionally, in the Netherlands, I worked and experimented with truffles and mushrooms in different sets and settings, with guidance and music. Just until the perfect setting was created for an optimal journey that feels appropriate and in tune with the needs of our time. This has become the basis for the psychedelic sessions or truffle ceremonies I now facilitate in 1-1 sessions and group ceremonies.
For me, embodiment is the key. Only when I fully embody something myself am I ready to share or pass it on and can I guide others in it.
I have had all sorts of psychedelic experiences; from very deep cosmic journeys to sessions where nothing happened at all. Of course we all hope for deep cosmic journeys full of insights, but sometimes there is something else to learn, something very small that later turns out to be very big. For example, in the ceremonies in which nothing much happened. In those, I only understood much later that there were huge lessons in learning to simply be present. I learned to have no expectations and to see what is already there and be grateful for that. Of course, the deep cosmic journeys also taught me a lot, countless deep insights and lessons about myself, life, the world and the universe.
